Teens Prayer for May 9th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, it is hard to imagine being okay again. The thing that has been heavy is still heavy. You have already given me every blessing I need in Christ. I don't have to feel it for it to be true. So help me lean on that bigger truth when the feeling in my chest won't change. Tonight, keep me doing the small, ordinary things. Help me drink water. Help me get to bed at a decent time. Help me send a quick thank-You to the friend who has been checking on me. None of it lifts the weight. But all of it is part of the longer story You are writing. Stamina is the prayer. Hand me a little of it. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
