Teens Prayer for May 8th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I keep checking my phone to see if people liked my posts. I know that is not how You see me. Your word says I can know I have eternal life. I cannot see that life. But I can see the numbers on my screen. So I have been trusting the numbers more than You. I do not need to be popular. I need to be Yours. Help me put the phone down for the next hour. Not to be someone new. Just to take one small step toward what is true. You see me. That is enough.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
