Teens Prayer for May 6th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father,
Today was loud. Group chat would not stop. The sports thing was too much. The family argument pulled me in even though I tried to stay out.
You said in Your Word that we live in You and You live in us because You gave us Your Spirit. Help me hold onto that tonight as I try to sleep. I do not have to be good at being quiet for You to be with me.
Today I was unfair to my younger sibling. I am sorry. Tomorrow I will not explain why I was unfair. I will just be kind in a way they can see.
Today also had mercies. Someone on the bus offered me their seat without me asking. The rain held off long enough for me to walk home dry. A meme made me laugh out loud in the hallway.
Receive what was real today. Let the day close on its own.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
