Teens Prayer for May 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says I am the temple of the living God, that You dwell in me and walk with me. That is humbling. You are not waiting at the door of my life. You are already here. So set apart my body and my mind for the next twelve hours. Help me eat like a human, not a panicked teenager. Help me speak in a voice my mom can recognize. Help me work on the assignment for the actual subject I am supposed to be working on. None of this morning is small. All of it is the room You are dwelling in. Hand me the day.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
