Teens Prayer for May 2nd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I do not feel close to You today. The reading was hard. The prayer is hard. But I am still here. In John 17:15, Jesus prayed for His friends. He asked You not to take them out of the world but to keep them from the evil one. I am still in this world. And You are still keeping me. Help me see that closeness to You does not depend on how I feel. Help me do the next small thing, even if the warmth does not catch up. Today I will do my school work without giving in to laziness. I will be kind to my brother, even when he is trying to annoy me. I will say one honest sentence to a friend at lunch. The feeling can come or not. Either way, the actions are my obedience. Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
