Teens Prayer for April 14th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I keep having the same fight with myself. I say I'll do better. I say I won't mess up this time. Then I do. Then the shame starts all over again.

Sometimes the voice in my head sounds like everyone's worst opinion of me playing on repeat. It laughs. It mocks. It won't stop.

But that loop is not You. Mocking is not the same as repentance. Sin is real and I need to confess it — but I don't have to live under a recording of every mean thing anyone has ever thought about me.

So tonight, I tell You what I actually did. I say it plain. I don't dress it up. I don't make excuses. And I believe that Jesus already paid for it.

Then I make one small different choice in the next hour. The phone goes in a drawer. I walk away. I open a book. I do the next right thing, even if it's small.

The turn is the point.

And the shame? I give that to You. You know what to do with it. I don't have to carry it into tomorrow.

Amen.
