Teens Prayer for April 13th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, a teacher who has been unfair to me all semester, said something cutting again today. Your Word says You are close to the brokenhearted. Keep my heart close to You and not to the resentment. The teacher's words are not going to be the loudest voice in my chest if You are. I am not going to pretend that the unfairness is not real. I am going to refuse to let it run me. Take the imagined comeback. I will not roast them to friends. I will not let my mom turn the dinner into a strategy session against them. I will do the work. I will be polite. I will let You handle the rest. The grace to do this without bitterness has to come from outside me. Please supply it. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
