Teens Prayer for April 5th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, before I rush into today with my own plan already running, set me low. Not low in self-worth — low in the sense of small, willing to listen, willing to learn. Proverbs says that learning to respect You is where wisdom starts, and that humility comes before anything good. So here I am. The day will pull me in twelve directions before lunch. The friend who needs a ride. The assignment I forgot. The boring conversation at the dinner table. Whatever You set in front of me, let me do it without checking how it ranks. All of it is the day. None of it is wasted if it is done with You here. Hand me the next ordinary hour. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
