Teens Prayer for April 4th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I keep saying 'I'm fine' when I'm not. It's become automatic, and that lie is becoming its own problem. Your Word says Jesus took on the worst of what I am, even though He had no sin of His own. If He could carry that, then telling You the truth about how I really feel can't be too much for You. The mood I'm in right now isn't the whole story, but it's real. I've been pretending it isn't, and that pretending is just another lie. I stop pretending now. I bring You the truth about how I'm actually doing. You handle what comes next. Receive me back. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
