Teens Prayer for March 25th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I broke someone's trust this week. I shared something they told me in private. I knew it was wrong and I did it anyway because I wanted people to think I was in the know. That is what I did. In Luke 22, Jesus looked at Judas and asked if He would be betrayed with a kiss. That question wrecks me. I do not want to be that person. Repent me. Not regret. Repent. Tomorrow I will go to the person whose trust I broke and tell them what I did. I will not make excuses. I will not make it smaller than it is. I will take whatever they say to me. The heart of repentance is the turn, and the turn for me is the apology. Walk me into that conversation. After it is over, I will want to act like everything is fine so I can feel forgiven. Do not let me do that. Help me just confess and live with what comes next. Give me a heart that does not do this again. Receive me. Amen.

How to pray it

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
