Teens Prayer for March 17th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, today was long, and I am wired and tired at the worst possible time. You told us to remember people who are struggling, and today I mostly just thought about myself. I walked past someone at school who was having a hard time, and I kept going. I had time. I just did not stop. Please forgive me for that. Tonight I am not going to spiral. I am just going to see it for what it was. Tomorrow, help me notice that kid again — and at least say something kind. There were small mercies today, too—a quiet half hour to read. My mom not bringing up the test. The song on the way home was exactly the one I needed. Thank You for what was real today. Quiet the noise in my head. Let me sleep without replaying every way I fell short. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
