Teens Prayer for March 12th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, there is a person I want to hate. Not just a little. On purpose. You told us to love our enemies, not hate them. I know that is what You want. But I do not feel loving toward this person. Take this hate away from me. I am tired of carrying it. It has made me smaller and meaner in private than I want to be in front of You. Help me pray for them by name. Just one short sentence. Help me notice when I am about to tell their story to someone new, and help me stay quiet instead. Make me less interested in winning the argument that only lives in my head. I would rather drop the case than win it. Help me drop it. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
