Teens Prayer for February 27th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, I am scared of how my body has been feeling. I have not told anyone yet because I am afraid of what they will say. You are my safe place. You are where my fear can go, not just inside my head. Take it. I am not asking for instant peace. I am asking for the next true step. Tomorrow morning, I will tell one parent what is going on. Even just a piece of it. Even if it is awkward. After that, whatever they say, we will figure out the next thing. I do not have to hold the whole imagined future tonight. I only have to hold the conversation tomorrow. Help me hold it. You have not been startled by anything that is happening in my body. Walk me, slowly, into the room with my parent. After that, we will see. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
