Teens Prayer for February 26th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I was at the table tonight, but I was not really there. Forgive me. I want to be a person who is actually in the room, not the version of me that is halfway in my head and halfway thinking about tomorrow. Today, my failures were small. I gave short answers to my mom. I half-did my assignment. I cut off a friend who was telling me a real story because I was not really listening. None of them is huge. But they all add up. Take the day. Receive me back. Do not let me lie in the dark, counting every wrong thing. There were good things too. Somebody asked how I was and meant it. I noticed. I was grateful, even if I did not say so. Tomorrow, new mercy. Amen.
