Teens Prayer for February 20th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I tried to pray and immediately thought about a video I want to film and then about whether I am hungry. You are the God who lifts up the downcast. You comforted Your people when Titus showed up. Sometimes comfort shows up in a person. Sometimes it shows up in five minutes of quiet that I almost gave up on. Do not let me give up on these five minutes. I am here even when my brain is somewhere else. Use the wandering. Use the half-attention. Use this distracted version of me. Your Spirit prays in me when I cannot find words. Christ speaks for me when I cannot stay focused for one full breath. I do not have to be impressive. I just have to keep coming back. Tomorrow, same chair, five minutes, no judgment. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
