Teens Prayer for February 15th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, it is a school morning, and I do not want to get out of bed. Your Word says in 2 Peter 3:18 to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." I cannot do that today by trying really hard. That kind of growth happens when I keep showing up for the small things long enough for something to shift. So I am showing up. I will get out of bed. I will eat something. I will look the people in my house in the eye. I will try to be present in the first period instead of thinking about other things. None of this is heroic. It is the small, steady stuff that growth is actually made of. Help me trust that these small things add up. You are growing me even on the days I cannot see any movement. Today I just have to take part in my own ordinary life. Hand me the morning. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
