Teens Prayer for February 13th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, a friend posted something today that made me so mad I read it three times. I have been writing a meaner reply in my head with every try. But Your Word says there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. If that is true for me on my worst day, it is true for them on theirs. Take the speech I have been rehearsing. I am not going to drag them online. I am not going to screenshot it for others to laugh at. I might still disagree, but I can do it without contempt. Help me reach out privately if there is a real talk to be had, and help me stay quiet if there is not. Pull me back from trying to look right in front of a crowd, and ground me in being honest in front of You. They are not the enemy. The pride in my own heart is more the enemy than they are. Tomorrow, before I do anything else, help me close the app for an hour. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
