Teens Prayer for January 30th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, I'm in a slump. Everything feels gray, and I'm sick of it. I can't hear You moving. I can't see any signs. I'm just here, same room, same mood, same week as last week. But Your Word says You go ahead of Your people even when they can't sense it. So I will keep doing the small things. Get up. Eat. Do the homework. Be kind to the people in my house. Show up to the thing I'd rather skip. None of this looks like a breakthrough. None of it has to. This mood is not the most real thing about today—You are. Carry me through the gray to whatever is next. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
