Teens Prayer for January 28th
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord, my mom's results came back, and we don't yet know what they mean. The house has been quieter than usual. The fear is sitting in my chest like a stone I cannot put down.
You are steady at the center even when the people I love are not. Steady me. I do not need to be told what tomorrow will hold. I need to be able to make breakfast tomorrow morning and look my mom in the eye and not crumble.
The thing I am scared of might happen. The thing I am scared of might not happen. Either way, You will not be a stranger to whoever I am on the other side of it.
Help me eat. Help me sleep. Help me sit with her without trying to fix what I cannot fix. One step. One hour. Tomorrow's strength tomorrow.
Amen.
