Teens Prayer for January 18th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, I'm scared about something, and I don't need to say it out loud. You already know. Your Word says there is a rest coming for Your people — a place where the fear lets go. I'm not there yet. The grip is still tight. Right now, I'm not asking You to take the scary thing away. I'm asking You to make the next step possible. The phone call I keep putting off. The form I have to fill out. The walk into a building I do not want to walk into. Take the worst stories out of my head and give me back today. I don't have to carry the future. I just have to do the next true thing. And that next thing is small. Help me do it. Then we'll figure out tomorrow when tomorrow comes. Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
