Teens Prayer for January 15th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, I keep saying tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll stop. Tomorrow I'll start. Tomorrow I'll text the person back. Tomorrow has become my favorite hiding place. Somewhere, I've been asking You to wait while I figure out my schedule. Don't wait. Move me today. Not regret. Not resolutions. Not a plan to be different later. One real action. I'm going to put the phone in the kitchen tonight. I'm going to apologize even though it's embarrassing. I'm going to do the work I've been pretending I'd get to. The point is not how bad I feel. The point is the turn. So turn me. Take me back, because You've always been ready. The forgiveness Jesus bought has my name on it. Let me stop refusing to pick it up. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
