Teens Prayer for January 14th

A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, there is a girl in my grade who has been quietly cruel to me for months, and I am tired of pretending I don't notice. Every time I see her name pop up, my stomach drops, and I start planning what I would say if she ever said it to my face. You are the One who fights for Your people without us having to fight back the same way. Fight for me without my having to become her in return. I won't pretend to like her. But I can stop making her the center of my thoughts. I can stop replaying the moments over and over. I can refuse to corner her in conversation just because I want to win. Take the rehearsed comebacks out of my head. Take the satisfaction I feel when she has a bad day. Make me willing to want her good even when I don't feel any warmth. Both of us are standing on the same ground in front of You. Amen.
