Teens Prayer for January 3rd
A short, Scripture-shaped teens prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, I don't feel like praying right now. I don't feel like reading anything. Following You feels like one more heavy thing on my list today.
But Your Word says You answered Your people when they needed You most. You did not wait for them to feel ready. So I am coming to You anyway, even though I am cold and tired.
Teach me that doing the right thing does not always feel exciting. I can text my friend back when I feel nothing. I can do the homework I have been putting off. I can sit at dinner without my phone, even if it feels boring or hard.
Don't let me wait to feel warm inside before I move. Don't let my faith rise and fall with my mood. Even when I feel empty, I still belong to You.
Help me choose the next loving thing, even when I do not want to. Send Your Spirit to carry me when I am too tired to believe very well. I trust that You are near, even when I cannot feel it.
That is enough for today.
Amen.
