Valley Of Dry Bones Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You asked Ezekiel, 'Son of man, can these bones live?' He answered, 'Lord God, You know.' Then the prophet spoke to the bones, and they came together. Sinews and flesh appeared on them. The breath came into them, and they stood on their feet, a great army.
Lord, that vision was about Israel coming back to life. But it also speaks to our time. There are churches that have lost their first love. There are marriages that have gone hollow. There are believers who have wandered into a long, dry stretch.
Can these bones live? You know.
Send Your word again. Bring Your breath again. Stand up an army of dry-bone saints in our generation. The same Spirit who filled Ezekiel's vision is at work in Your church now.
Breathe on the dry bones in my own life. Breathe on the lives of those I love. The valley does not have to stay a valley of bones. Let it become a valley of an army.
Amen.
