The Fall Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, the snake's first move was a question: “Did God really say?” That same voice still whispers to me. It tells me Your words can be bent to allow what You clearly said no to. It tells me the warnings are not that serious. It tells me I can be like You and decide for myself. Lord, that is the same lie from the garden. I fall for it more often than I want to admit. My eyes open to the wrong things. I hide. I blame. But You promised that the woman's seed would crush the snake's head. Jesus, You have already done it. Help me live in that victory today.
Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
