Suffering Servant Isaiah 53 Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord Jesus, You were pierced for my sins. You were crushed for my wrongs. The punishment that brought me peace fell on You. And because of Your wounds, I am healed.

Isaiah saw it seven hundred years before it happened. He saw the Servant who would carry the sins of many. He saw the stripes that would bring healing. He saw the silence before Your accusers. He saw the grave, the tomb of a rich man. Every detail came true on that Friday in Jerusalem.

Father, this chapter shows what the gospel cost You. Let me never get used to it. The pierced one was pierced for me. The crushed one was crushed for me. The wounds on Your body brought healing to my heart.

Let this truth never grow old in me. Your love is deeper than I can hold. Help me see it fresh every day.

Amen.

  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
