Spies In Canaan Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, the spies saw the Nephilim and felt like grasshoppers. Ten of them let fear win. Only Joshua and Caleb remembered that You are bigger. Most days, I am like those ten spies. I see the size of my problems and forget the size of the One who leads me. The hard things in my life are real. But You are real too. The places You have called me to go, I can take in Your strength. Make me like Caleb at my next hard choice. Help me see with eyes that trust You, not eyes that shrink back. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
