Shepherds Of Israel: Ezekiel 34 Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, You warned the shepherds of Israel — woe to those who fed themselves instead of the flock. The strong pushed around the weak. The lost were not sought. The scattered were not gathered. But You promised to be the Shepherd Yourself — to seek the lost, bring back the strayed, bind up the injured, strengthen the weak.

Examine the way I have led. Have I fed myself off the work? Have I sought the lost or only managed the ones already here? Have I been a true shepherd or a hired hand who runs when it gets hard?

Mend the shepherds in Your church today. Restore the flocks that have been mistreated. Be the Shepherd who tends Your own sheep, and make me a shepherd who follows Your lead instead of betraying it.

Amen.
