Sennacherib’s Siege Of Jerusalem Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Hezekiah took the threatening letter and spread it out before You. He named the danger. He did not hide it. He asked You to act for the sake of Your own honor, not his worthiness. Teach me to pray that way. The threats that come at me are sometimes loud and close. Help me spread them before You. Let me trust that the One who answered Hezekiah in a single night still answers, in His own way and in His own time. You made the enemy turn back then. Turn back what threatens me now, or give me faith to stand. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
