Resurrection Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, the angel said, He is not here; He is risen, just as He said. The women came to the tomb to care for a dead body. But their grief was overtaken by something no one expected. The stone was rolled away. The slab was empty. You walked out of that grave on a real morning in a real place. The resurrection is not just a symbol. It is a fact. Because You rose, my grave is not the last word about me. You proved it by coming out of the tomb. Plant me in that truth. The Easter morning behind me is the promise of the morning still coming for me. Hold me until that day. Then bring me out of my own grave, just as You were brought out of Yours. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
