Render To Caesar Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You once asked whose picture was on the coin. They said Caesar's. So You said to give Caesar his coin, but give God what is God's.
The coin had Caesar's face, so it went back to him. I have Your face on my soul, so I belong to You.
Caesar gets the coin. God gets me.
Help me see the difference. The government has some rights over me, but You have all of me. There are no limits to what You deserve.
So pay my taxes when they are due. Vote with a good heart. Follow the laws that do not go against Yours. But keep my whole self for You.
The coin and the soul are not the same. Help me spend them the right way.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
