Rebuilding The Walls Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Nehemiah built the wall with a tool in one hand and a sword in the other. He prayed, and he stayed ready at the same time. Make me like that. I am building something that matters to You, and there is pushback. Give me one hand for the work and one hand for the fight. Give me a heart that prays and a heart that watches. Send people to stand next to me. Warn me when trouble is coming. You are the God who builds with Your people. You were with Nehemiah, and You are with me. Help me keep building, even when it is hard. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
