Bible story

Rebekah At The Well Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, when Abraham’s servant prayed for a sign, Rebekah walked right into the answer without even knowing it. She drew water for a stranger and his ten camels, and she did not stop until the work was done. You were at work in that moment, and You were at work through her kindness. Make me a Rebekah at my own well. When an unexpected chance to be kind shows up, help me not to hold back. Let me not stop at the first courtesy when more is needed. The camels still need watering. Move me to the bucket. Send me to draw. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray
