Raising Of Lazarus Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You stood at the tomb of Your friend Lazarus, and You wept. You knew You were about to call him back to life, and still You cried. Four days he had been dead. His sisters were hurt that You had come so late. But You called his name, and he came out, still wrapped in grave clothes. Then You said, “Unbind him and let him go.”
Father, the grief I carry is real. The losses I have faced are real. And the hope of resurrection does not erase them today. You do not rush past my tears. You weep with those who weep, even when You know what is on the other side.
So call my dead places back to life in Your timing. Some, You will raise now. Some, You will raise on the last day. Either way, help me and Your church to unwrap what You have freed, to let go of what holds people back, and to walk with You through sorrow and hope at the same time.
Amen.
