Peter’s Confession At Caesarea Philippi Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord Jesus, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. That is what Peter said, and it is what faith says today. You called him blessed because the Father in heaven revealed it to him. Help me make that same confession with my own mouth. You are the Christ. You are the Son of the living God. If You are the Christ, the cross is my rescue. If You are the Son, the resurrection proves who You are. If You are the living God's Son, my life follows Your call. Plant this truth deep in my heart, deeper than habit. Build Your church on this confession in our day, and let me be one of the stones. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
