Peter Freed From Prison Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Your church was praying for Peter and could not believe it when he was freed. That same pattern is in me. I pray for things and then act surprised when You answer. Cure the unbelief that prays without expecting. Open doors that have been locked. Free those who have been chained. The chains in our churches now are not always physical, but they are real — addictions, depressions, prodigal seasons — and You still remove them. Send Your angel to do the unchaining. And help me to believe the door when it opens. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
