Nebuchadnezzar’s Tree Dream Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Nebuchadnezzar stood on his palace roof and said, Look at this great Babylon I built for my own glory. You warned him, but he would not listen. So You humbled him until he knew that You are God. Father, that story is a gift. It shows that being broken can be a kindness. And being restored is an even greater one. Do not wait to humble me through hard things. Teach me now. The pride that ruled great Babylon is the same pride that shows up in my smaller projects. Humble me on time. Amen.
How to pray it
- Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
