Millennial Reign Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Your Word says that blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection. Over such, the second death has no power. They will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with You for a thousand years.

People read this chapter in different ways. But the center is sure: Christ reigns, and His saints reign with Him. The kingdoms of this world are becoming the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ.

You are on the throne. He will reign. The suffering I face now will not be wasted. The reign that begins then goes on forever.

Keep me a faithful citizen of Your coming kingdom while I am still in this present age. However, the years unfold, they are years of Your rule. I trust You with what I cannot yet see.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

    Revelation 20:6
  2. Dominion was given him, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be destroyed.
