Joseph Interprets Pharaoh’s Dreams Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, Joseph told Pharaoh that only You can explain dreams. He was in prison when he first said it, and he said it again to the king. He had the skill, but he gave You the credit. I want to be like that. Too often, I explain my own life and take the credit for understanding it. I look at what happens and think I know what it means, but the meaning belongs to You. The fat cows and the lean cows were Your message. Joseph just spoke it. Show me what the good years mean. Show me what to do in the hard years. And when I understand something true, help me give You the credit, just like Joseph did. The man who would not take the honor was the man You trusted with the whole storehouse. Amen.
