Healing Of Blind Bartimaeus Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord Jesus,

You asked Bartimaeus, "What do you want Me to do for you?" You already knew. But You wanted him to say it out loud.

He did not hide behind safe words. He said, "Let me see again." And You gave him what he asked for.

I do not want to hide behind "bless me" or "be with me" when You are waiting for the real thing.

So here it is: I need You to open my eyes. I have been keeping them closed. I have been afraid to say what I really want.

Give me the courage to name it. Give me the honesty to bring You my real request, not a polite cover.

Let me see what You want me to see.

Amen.

  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
