Esther Saves Her People Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, in the book of Esther, Your name is never once spoken, yet Your hand turns every page. A death decree had gone out. Haman had set the day for destruction. Esther was queen, but approaching the king could cost her life. She fasted. She prepared. She went. You were in all of it. Make me an Esther in the moment I am uniquely positioned to act for Your people. The risk may be real. The outcome may be uncertain. But the step of faith is mine to take. I will go. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

Pray these slowly, one line at a time. Scripture quoted from a public-domain translation.

  1. For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Who knows if you haven’t come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
    Esther 4:14
