Elijah Taken To Heaven Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, You took Elijah up in a whirlwind. Chariots of fire and horses of fire carried him home. Elisha saw it and cried out. You are the God who carries Your people. You took Enoch long before. You took Elijah in a way no one expected. Death is not the only doorway home. Even when Your people die, You carry them. The fire chariots still come, even when no one can see them. Bless the dying saints. Carry them up to the home You have made ready. Comfort those who watch them go. Let them know the home is real. The mantle of Elijah fell to Elisha. Pass the mantles to the next generations. Raise up men and women who will carry what has been given to them. We trust You with those we love. We trust You with those who come after us. Amen.
