Daniels Visions Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father, Daniel 10:11 — O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to You, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to You.

Father, the visions in the second half of Daniel are hard to understand. Empires rise and fall. Beasts come out of the sea. The Son of Man comes with the clouds. They terrified the prophet — and they can overwhelm me too.

But every empire that looks permanent will end. Every kingdom that looks unbreakable will be replaced. Only Your kingdom will last forever.

So hold me when the news is full of wars and fear. Hold me when it feels like the world is falling apart. I do not need to figure out every detail. I need to know that You are still on the throne.

The bigger story is Yours. This moment will pass. You will not.

Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.

Verses to pray

  2. The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole sky, will be given to the people of the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions will serve and obey him.’
