Bread Of Life Discourse Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, many of Your disciples turned away. They liked the bread and fish You gave the day before. But You said they had to eat Your body and drink Your blood. That teaching was too hard. The crowd got smaller. You turned to the twelve and asked, do You want to go away too? Peter answered for them. Lord, where would we go? You have the words of eternal life. Lord, this part of the story is hard to read. Hard teaching still drives people away. Some who followed You for a short time walked off. But the twelve stayed. Not because they had no other plan. They stayed because they believed You. Make me like Peter when the teaching gets hard. When I do not understand. When the crowd gets smaller around me. Where would I go? You still have the words of eternal life. I will stay with You. Amen.
