Armor Of God Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped bible story prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Father, I take up the whole armor of God today. You told Paul to list what You give us: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes that make my feet ready to share Your good news, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your word. None of these is for show. Each one guards a place the enemy likes to attack. Father, the belt is mine to fasten this morning. Truth around my waist holds the rest of the armor together. When lies creep in, the belt gets loose, and everything falls apart. The breastplate covers my heart. Righteousness is Your gift to me, not something I earn. The shoes make my feet ready to carry Your peace. The shield catches every fiery arrow sent my way. The helmet guards my mind against despair. The sword is the only weapon for attack, and it is Your word, sharper than any argument I will face. Suit me up, Lord. The hard day will come on Your schedule, not mine. I want to be standing when it is over. Amen.
