Parable

Parable Of The Wicked Tenants Prayer

A short, Scripture-shaped parable prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Lord, You planted this vineyard and trusted me to work it. But I have farmed it like it was mine. I have tried to keep the harvest for myself. Forgive that. The vineyard was never mine. The harvest was never mine. The Son You sent was not in my way. He was Your gift, and I treated Him like a threat. Take the vineyard back without taking my life. Make me a worker who remembers Who owns this place. Plant me again where I can serve You with an honest heart. Amen.

How to pray it

  1. Read it slowly. Move through this prayer one line at a time, out loud if you can, letting each phrase land before the next.
  2. Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
