Parable
Parable Of The Strong Man Prayer
A short, Scripture-shaped parable prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.
The prayer
A prayer to pray now
Lord Jesus, You are the stronger one.
In Mark 3:27, a strong man sits in his house, armed and in charge. Nothing leaves his house until someone stronger comes, ties him up, and takes back what is his.
Lord, there are patterns in me that have been in charge for years. They hide behind good names. They will not let go on their own. Only You can break their grip.
Be that stronger one for me. Bind the strong man in me. Take back the house. I am not asking for a small change. I am asking for a change of ownership. This life has always been Yours by right. Come and take what is Yours.
Help me turn from what holds me. Help me say no to sin and yes to You. Let Your power, not my will, be in charge.
Amen.

- Make it personal. Pause where a line meets your day and name the person, fear, or hope it touches before God.
- Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
