Father, the year started with plans I could not keep. I wanted more sleep. I wanted more quiet. I wanted the days to go the way I thought they would. But this is the year You walked me through. The end of Jesus' life was a cross before it was a throne. Endings are harder than beginnings. But they are where You show what is true. Let me look at the end of this year without looking away. The end is held more steadily than the beginning was. You also hold the next year. Amen.
