New Mothers Prayer for December 28th

A short, Scripture-shaped new mothers prayer for an ordinary moment of Christian faith.

The prayer

A prayer to pray now

Father,

The dishes are real. The tiredness is real. The laundry piled on the chair is real. But the life I live right nowis not held together by my own strength. It is held together by Yours.

You said I could live by faith—not faith I make up,but faith that comes from Your Son.I do not have to muster it.I do not have to fake it.I can borrow His.

When my baby's hand curls around my neck,I remember:You are here. You are enough. You have plenty of faith for both of us.

Let me walk this dayheld up by another's faith, not weighed down by trying to carry my own.

Amen.

  3. Carry it with you. Keep one sentence with you — on your phone or in your pocket — and return to it when the day gets loud.
