Father, in the story of Ruth, Orpah kissed her mother-in-law and went home. But Ruth stayed close to her. Both were kind. But only one stayed. Help me be the one who stays today. Not the kind of love that says the right thing and then walks away. The kind that stays close. To my husband, when the talk is slow and the night feels long. To my baby, when the crying will not stop and the hour is hard. To You, when my prayers feel small, and Your Word feels far away. Let me stay close today, not just say the right words and walk away. Amen.
